Contact seals are the largest group of seals and are so-named because they come into contact with each other. A seal is the technical description given to units or structures whose purpose is to prevent the unwanted transfer of material from one compartment to another.

Static / Dynamic seals for technical use are divided into STATIC (no movement) and DYNAMIC (direct and rotating movement) seals.

Static Seals do not cause any relative movement and are used as flat gaskets in a wide-ranging spectrum of applications, depending on the choice of materials to be used.

Flange Gaskets in plate form or foil are available for various applications in a range of materials: For example high pressure seal plating made from rubber bound aramid fibre, graphite, mica, paper, elastomers, PTFE and ePTFE.
